Bored With Life?
Hi, Ever been in a situation where you feel completely lost ? You don’t know what you want, or even what you want to do ? You don’t know what will make you happy, Money ? Success ? Love ? Adventure ? Nothing I come up with seems to be appealing. I feel like I am “Stuck” in life, What is my next step. I want to know if anyone else out there feels the same way, or has felt the same way in the past, and what are you doing to get past that ? or if you have been in that situation, what didyou do ?
Someone mentioned something about Suicide.

I’m will never end my own Life. It’s selfish and very wrong. Just wanted to clear that up. To me that is never an option, so keep that in mind when answering this question thanks

I always feel that way. Death seems like my only option when suddenly I am struck with the brilliant thought that I must share with the entire world. and i am too lazy to kill myself. too much work.

Focus on your expectations.
We often have many shoulds — I should be rich, I should be successful, I should be with someone, I should travel (adventure). The difficulty lies in doing what we choose rather than what parents, family, friends and society want us to do.

I’m so bored, I’m moving from England to Australia.
That should give me a lot to focus on.. A new life….

I would live my life to the fullless.
I would spend my whole life doing things that I can’t do when I’m old.
I would do my best to be successful in everything that I do.
I would spend my rest of days with my love ones.
I would do my best to live.

i have known a lot of people who felt this same exact way. i feel that way now but i know i will get out of it eventually.
people go through phases… most of these phases are out of our control.. such as going through school - then college- then our career- then marriage- then kids- etc. we dont have to go through a life like this.
we are put on Earth and are allowed to live like we want. We are, however, limited to rules we are supposed to follow by law. these rules are our only limitations that we must follow. everything else is up to you.
there is no one stopping you from doing the things you want to do besides yourself. i think you are wanting to do somethng, you just dont know how to do it. if you dont know what you want to do, then think of things you DO NOT want to do and dont do them!

Eat some chocolate and take some St. John’s Wort, then start walking for 20 minutes a day for about 2 weeks. After 2 weeks start running for about 15 minutes a day and slowly add time per week or when you feel the need. Your body will release endorphins and increase serotonin levels and it’ll help get you out of the funk you are in. We all have chemical imbalances that cause us to get “bummed or bored” but for some it takes longer or more work to get out of it. Just know your not alone, and that the simplest things can increase your mood.

First off, get rid of any fear you have. Once you are sure it is not fear holding you back, which it probably is, then you are ready to tackle life. Think about the last thing you did that made you really happy. What was it about that experience that you found joyful? Ultimately you create your own reality, no one decides what makes you happy but yourself. Trying studying philosophy or experimenting with LSD or mushrooms, only if you haven’t already tried them.

yes i know exactly how you feel, i dont know what will make me happy and even what defines happiness or success.
but this much i know, the situation you and myself are in respectatively is not where we wish to stay. this is why i stay in college so i can get to a different place in my life where i have money can travel the world etc.
and if that doesnt work out there is still plenty of time to give up my possessions and try and survive on the streets if i so desire.
i think there is something you really want to do, you must really want to go skydiving or something exciting like that if not i say you do drugs…

I think most people have felt this way at some point and time in their lives. I have felt this way on more than one occasion. What I do to help me move past this negative feeling, is to look at all the good things about myself and my life. Then focus on appreciating them. Go out and give your time and energy to someone or group that is less fortunate than yourself. You always feel better when you do something good for someone else. Happiness is an illusion. You perception of your life is how you view your life. Abraham Lincoln said “A person is about as happy as they choose to be.” Oprah suggests starting a “Gratitude Journal”. Get an empty journal (or even a spiral notebook) and write down at least 5 things every day that you have to be grateful for that day. Keep doing it every day. This will get you in the habit of looking at things in a more positive light. You can start with little things like seeing a beautiful sunrise or sunset, noticing a new flower in your yard, hearing a song that reminds you of someone you love etc. Before you know it, you will be appreciating the fact that you are able to see, to hear, to smell, to touch, and taste.
Remember, happiness is all around you, you just have to see the things that are there. Good luck.
